Required Courses

• English: 4 Credits
• Mathematics: 3 Credits
• Science: 3 Credits
• Social Studies:
  • World History: 1 Credit
  • American History: 1 Credit
  • Economics: 1/2 Credit
  • Am Government: 1/2 Credit
• *Performing Fine Arts (any music, art, drama, or speech course): 1/2 Credit
• *Practical Arts (any Career & Technical course): 1/2 Credit
• Life Management Skills: 1/2 Credit
• Personal Fitness: 1/2 Credit
• Physical Education: 1/2 Credit

Total Required Courses: 15 1/2 Credits

Total Elective Courses: 8 1/2 Credits

Total Courses Needed: 24 Credits

*A year of a practical arts elective will also meet the fine arts requirement. A year of a fine arts elective will also meet the practical arts requirement.

Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT)

• Students must achieve passing scores on the reading, mathematics sections of the grade 10 Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT).
• Students entering grade 9 in 2006 and thereafter must also achieve passing scores on the writing section of the grade 10 Florida Comprehensive Test (FCAT).
• Passing the FCAT is essential for graduation with a standard diploma.

Students must achieve a grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
