Class Rankings and High School Classifications

  • For graduation exercises only, "honors" shall be determined by the following grade point averages:

    • Graduation with Honors
      3.00-3.499 weighted GPA

    • Graduation with High Honors
      3.500 and above weighted GPA

  • All courses taken for a regular diploma will be included in the letter grade according to the numeric score as described in the district pupil progression plan.

  • Full-time dual enrollment students will not be eligible to be valedictorian or salutatorian.

  • Class rank may be used for purposes of college admission, scholarship and/or financial aid application, and for identifying honor graduates. Class rank shall be given for the above purposes when requested by a college, and is included on the electronic transcript used in the state of Florida.

  • Valedictorian and salutatorian honors will be determined based upon criteria established by the Marion County School Board. Please check with your guidance counselor for specific criteria.

  • Students must complete six (6) credits per year to meet expected yearly progress.
