Florida Bright Futures Award Amounts

  • Florida Academic Scholars Award
    • 3.5 weighted GPA in 15 core courses
      • 4 English
      • 3 Math (Algebra I and above)
      • 3 Social Studies
      • 3 Natural Science (2 with labs)
      • 2 Foreign language (same language)

    • GPA based on highest grades in required courses (may include other academic units to raise GPA) *may use up to 4 additional credits from courses in academic areas listed above and/or AP or 1B fine arts courses to raise GPA.

    • 75 community service hours

    • 1270 SAT score or 28 ACT score

  • Florida Medallion Scholars Award
    • 3.0 weighted GPA in 15 core courses
      • 4 English
      • 3 Math (Algebra I and above)
      • 3 Social Studies
      • 3 Science (2 with labs)
      • 2 Foreign language (same language)

    • GPA based on highest grades in required courses (may include other academic units to raise GPA) *may use up to 4 additional credits from courses in academic areas listed above and/or AP or 1B fine arts courses to raise GPA.

    • 970 SAT score or 20 ACT score

    • 2.75 College GPA for renewal


  • Gold Seal Vocational Scholars Award
    • 3.5 unweighted GPA in sequential program of Gold Seal courses
    • 3.0 weighted GPA in 15.5 credits required for graduation
      • 4 English
      • 3 Math
      • 3 Social Studies
      • 3 Science
      • 1/2 credit in Life Management Skills
      • 1/2 credit in Personal Fitness
      • 1 Vocational/Practical Art or 1/2 credit in each
      • 1/2 credit in Physical Education

    • SAT: 440 verbal/440 math*
    • ACT: 18R, 17E, 19M*
    • CPT: 83 RC, 83 SS, 72 ALG*
