Information Technology
Note: Competency in the use of computers is a requirement for all degree seeking students at Central Florida Community College. One option to satisfy this requirement is satisfactory completion of a high school computer course.

Keyboarding and Computer Skills (8200320)
Grades 9-12; 1/2 credit course
This course provides basic overview of business and information systems. Emphasis is placed on developing proficiency with touch keyboarding and word processing applications.

Computer and Business Skills (8200330)
Grades 9-12; 1/2 credit course; Prerequisite: Keyboarding and Computer Skills
This course introduces students to the basic skills and foundations required for today's business environments. This course provides instruction in fundamental computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation applications.

Introduction to Information Technology (8207310)
Grades 9-12; Equivalent to BOTH Keyboarding and Computer Skills AND Computer and Business Skills
This course provides an introduction to information technology concepts and careers. The content includes keyboarding, operating systems, software applications, and electronic communications. This course starts with developing keyboarding skills then progresses to word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations. Basic HTML and Web design may also be covered.

Web Design I (8207110)
Grades 10-12; Prerequisite: Introduction to Information Technology OR BOTH Keyboarding and Computer Skills AND Computer and Business Skills; Teacher Recommendation Required.
This course is designed to provide a basic overview of the Internet, Intranet, and WWW. The content includes operating systems; basic HTML commands; navigation of the Internet, Intranet, and Web; and Web page design. Students will create web sites using Dreamweaver 8, Flash 8, Fireworks 8, and basic HTML.

Grades 11-12; Prerequisite: Web Design I; Teacher Recommendation Required.
This course provides advanced concepts for Internet, Intranet, and Web design. The content includes Internet/Intranet tools, Web site promotion, advanced HTML commands, advanced page design, and multimedia applications. Students will create web sites using Dreamweaver 8, Flash 8, Fireworks 8, and basic HTML.
- Web Design III (8207130)
Grade 12; Prerequisite: Web Design II; Teacher Recommendation Required.
This course provides advanced concepts in HTML, design, and Internet tools. Students will create web sites using Dreamweaver 8, Flash 8, Fireworks 8, and basic HTML.
