From The Principal's Desk Dear Forest Parents, The school year is going well. Students and teachers have now settled into a routine. Our student numbers remained higher than expected. As a result several new teachers have and will be hired to relieve some overcrowding. We hope to complete this task in the next several weeks. The month of October has some key dates to remember. FCAT retakes for juniors and seniors will occur on October 2nd and 3rd. FHS will also administer the PSAT for sophomores and some juniors. This test will be administered on October 17th. The end of the first grading period is October 23rd which means report cards will soon follow. Extra-curricular activities are a big part of FHS. Please encourage your child to participate in an activity. This involvement can play a key role in your child’s education. Our School Advisory Committee (SAC), Booster Clubs, and support groups are great ways for parents to get involved with FHS. Please review the newsletter for important dates and information relating to your child’s education. Thank you for your support as FHS looks forward to a great year. Go Wildcats! Chester Gregory
