National Honor Society The induction for the 2007-08 school year was held November 5, 2007. It was truly a celebration of student accomplishment. Special thanks to the evening’s guest speaker, Daniel Hightower, for his inspirational message. NHS would also like to recognize the Forest High School JROTC’s Rifle Team and Color Guard for an amazing presentation as well as Mr. Brewton’s agriscience program for providing the greenery to decorate the auditorium. Thank you all! The following students were inducted into the National Honor Society – and we will look forward to seeing them at the December 12th meeting:
The next meeting will be held on December 12th at 2:50 p.m. in the media center. (Please note: this is a change from our regular schedule as the 5th is an early release day.) This will be a holiday celebration and members are encouraged to bring a new children’s book to donate to the FHS book drive. These books will be given to children in foster care here in Marion County over the holidays. The Forest Wildcat Band earned straight superior ratings at the Florida Bandmasters Association Marching Festival in Leesburg on November 3rd. The Annual Holiday Concert will be held on December 13th at 7pm in the auditorium. Admission is $3. There will be drawings for some great prizes. Patrick Gulick and Seth Rountree were selected to participate in the USF Festival of Winds Honor Band on December 6-9. The jazz band played for the Veterans Day celebration on November 12th at Veterans Memorial Park. Jody Alexander and Robby Kuhn played Echo TAPS. The Drama Club presents “The Mousetrap” by Agatha Christie on December 7th and 8th at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium. Tickets are $3 for students and $4 for adults if purchased in advanced or $1.00 more if purchased at the door. For reservations or more information, please contact Miss Kerry A. Keenan by e-mail Kerry.Keenan@marion.k12.fl.us. The Ralstons (played by Caleb Wilson and Ariel Samson) have been married a year and have recently opened a guest house when they receive news that a murderer is on the loose and could be one of their guests. Could it be the eccentric architect (Logan Carmen), the retired Army Major (Chris Bendall), the random stranger who appears out of nowhere (Chritian Saucedo), a detached young woman (Katie Oglesby), or a snooty old woman (Katie Wagner)? Or is it one of the Ralstons themselves? Soon after the policeman (Tom Dean) arrives, the old woman is murdered. Can guests find out who the killer is before the killer seeks revenge on his third victim? Please come out and support the rest of an amazing cast and crew!
