With the first semester behind us, the Air Force Junior ROTC is planning on hitting the New Year running. We closed out the year with a magnitude of various community service events such as our Thanksgiving food drive, trash clean ups, and several school beautification projects; and not to mention Color Guard details, Rifle, and Drill competitions. Over 100 cadets had the opportunity to travel by charter bus to Valdosta, Georgia where they were entertained by the AF’s very own Tops in Blues performers. We were given front row seats and even treated to an after performance of up and close question and answer session. We also took our annual trip to the Jacksonville Air Show. Cadets were amazed with death-defying tricks and heart-racing action. The show was an all-day event of nothing but pure action and adrenaline as cadets watched the master pilots in action. And the action and excitement doesn’t end here. We closed out 2007 with a bash by holding our annual Military Ball. This was an extravagant and well prepared event for all the cadets and guests alike. We had the infamous Grog Bowl, promotion of the new Group and Deputy Group Commanders, as well as Military Ball King and Queen. Congratulations go out to Cadet-Colonel Adam Carswell on earning the privilege of becoming our 2nd semester Group Commander and to CadetLieutenant Colonel Dianna Bennett on becoming our new Deputy Group Commander. Also for the first time at the Military Ball, we crowned our own King and Queen. ROTC would like to congratulate Cadet-Captain James Sinclair for being crowned King and Cadet-Lieutenant Colonel Kemper Lipscomb for being crowned Queen. Up-Coming Events:
Congratulations to the following students who did an outstanding job at the HOSA Region III competition:
