FHS Service Projects Pasta For Pennies Our annual Pasta for Pennies campaign benefiting the Leukemia Lymphoma Society begins Wednesday, February 20 thru 29. Start saving that spare change and let’s continue to be the top collecting school in North Central Florida. This year’s goal is $7,000. You can also donate on behalf of Forest High School by visiting: http://www.active.com/donate/synfl/syOForest
This year’s donations of new, wrapped books to Marion County’s Foster Children were over 800. Forest High donated 419 and Hammett Bowen Elementary donated 402 new books. FHS Student Government and Homeroom Representatives organized the collection and individually wrapped the books to be given out to the foster children. On December 14, the books were picked up by the Dept. of Children and Family employees to be disbursed at the annual Christmas Party sponsored by Marion County’s Foster Parent Association. The FHS homeroom with the most donations was Ms. Paschke’s Spanish II class, the clear winners, with 78 books donated! A celebratory luncheon will be held for these students and the organizations involved in this year’s project on January 29, 2008. A Big Thank You to parents, students, faculty and community members for your support of this worthwhile project!
